Hot Chai suggestions:

Basic Hot Chai:
1. Add 3-4 Tablespoons of David Rio Chai to 7 ounces of hot water (or milk).
2. Stir and enjoy.
(For coffeehouse preparation, we recommend adding David Rio Chai to hot water, mixing well, then adding steamed milk which has been heated using the steam wand on the espresso machine)


Hot chai with Italian syrup:
1. Prepare a cup of hot chai.
2. Add a shot of your favorite syrup.
3. Stir and enjoy.
(Try with orange, blueberry, hazelnut, chocolate)


Chai with Espresso:
1. Make a hot or cold cup of chai.
2. Add a shot of espresso.
3. Stir and enjoy.


Chai Coffee:
1. Add two tablespoons of chai to a cup of coffee.
2. Stir and enjoy.


Chai with Irish Cream:
1. Add 3 Tablespoons of David Rio Chai to a cup of hot water.
2. Add one shot of Irish cream liqueur.
3. Stir and enjoy.
(Also try other Liqueurs like Kahlua or Grand Marnier)


Holiday Chai:
Try hot chai with a shot of dark rum, or add chai to a cup of warm egg nog.


COLD CHAI suggestions:
Chai On Ice:
1. Add 4 Tablespoons of David Rio Chai to about 4-5 ounces of hot water and stir.
2. Pour over a cup of ice.
3. Some of the ice will melt from the hot water.
4. Stir and serve.
(You may also prepare a pitcher of chai ahead of time, keep chilled, then stir and pour over ice when serving).


Chai fruit smoothie:
1. Start with about 1/2 cup of milk or water.
2. Add 4 Tablespoons of chai.
3. Add one banana (or use ¼ cup of blueberries or any other fruit of choice).
4. Add about 8 oz. of ice.
5. Blend well until smooth.


Chai Ice Blend:
1. Start with 1/2 cup milk.
2. Add 5 Tablespoons of powdered chai.
3. Add about 8 oz. of ice.
4. Blend well until smooth.
5. Top with whipped cream if desired.
(Try adding a shot of flavored syrup, espresso or chocolate powder)


For restaurants using a GRANITA machine:
(Ratio: 1 pound of chai per 2 ½ Quarts water)
1. In a clean container, combine chai with 1 quart of hot water.
2. Stir or whisk until dissolved.
Pour chai liquid and remaining water into granita machine.
